Amole S. Mahal is a Calgary lawyer who focuses his practice on wills, estate planning and probate. He works with families across Calgary and Alberta to create clear, practical plans that actually work when they are needed. Amole takes the time to understand each client’s family situation, assets and concerns, and explains options in plain language so people feel confident signing their documents.

He regularly helps families with:

  • Wills, estate planning and probate – from simple wills to more involved planning for larger or more complex estates

  • Personalized plans for couples, young families, blended families and business owners – tailored to guardianship issues, second marriages, and succession for family businesses

  • Flat-fee pricing with no surprise bills – clear quotes up front so clients know exactly what their estate plan will cost

  • Creating simple and complex trusts – including spousal trusts, qualified disability trusts, and other structures designed to protect vulnerable beneficiaries and minimize future complications

  • Drafting guardianship provisions for minor children – ensuring there is a clear, legally sound plan if something happens to a parent

Amole earned his Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Law & Society, from the University of Calgary, before obtaining his Juris Doctor (J.D.) law degree. He now focuses his practice on helping Alberta families get organized, often working alongside accountants, financial advisors and credit unions who refer their members to him for estate planning advice.

Clients often comment on his responsiveness, practical advice and down-to-earth explanations, as well as the peace of mind they feel once everything is signed, witnessed and properly in place.

How We Handle Your Estate Plan

Complimentary Consultation

We start with a short meeting or call to learn about your family, assets and goals. We’ll discuss whether you need a simple estate plan or more detailed planning (for example, guardianship provisions or trust planning for children).
After this conversation, we provide a clear flat-fee quote so you know the cost before you decide to move ahead.

Gather Key Documents

To keep things organized, we ask you to complete our Wills & Estates Client Package. This secure questionnaire gathers key details we need to draft your documents, such as, full names and contact details for you and your spouse, names of executors, guardians and alternate decision-makers, a summary of your assets and any special gifts you wish to make and your preferences for medical and personal care decisions

We Draft Your Documents

Once we have your information, we prepare: your Will (or mirror Wills for couples), your Enduring Power of Attorney (for financial and legal decisions) and your Personal Directive (for health care and personal decisions). We customize these to reflect your wishes, Alberta law and the Surrogate Rules. We then send you drafts to review and schedule a follow-up meeting to go through them in plain language.

Review, Signing & Affidavits

At your signing appointment, we review each document with you in clear, simple terms, make any final changes on the spot where needed, arrange our witnesses and make sure everything is signed correctly and prepare affidavits of execution and any necessary exhibit stamps. This extra step is what online will kits usually skip, but it’s what makes your Will much easier and faster to use during probate.
